Connection with Nature

Being connected with nature and the energies it provides is an important part of a pagan practice. We draw on this energy to fuel our magic and use it to ground ourselves and feel her stability.

There are many ways to help us feel connected. This can be in a form of a complex ritual, or something as simple as a walk through the park. Everyone has their own way of building this connection.

I’ll share a few of my favorite ways that help me build this relationship. One of them is going on a walk or a hike through the woods. I love how the pines smell and the sound of birds. For me it’s both grounding and empowering. Another way is to work with my house plants, to nurture them and watch them grow. And the last one I’ll share in this list (otherwise it will go on forever!) is my love for cooking. There’s something special about working with ingredients that the earth provides, to take the time and pour my energy into the meal while I’m cooking it; then to enjoy the flavor and nourishment it provides.

What are some of your favorite ways to connect with nature? Or is there something new you’re looking to try to build this relationship?
