Magick in Everyday
Magick is all around us!
How often do you use magick in your daily life? How much are you aware of what you do is magick? I’m sure many of us think of magick to be spells, rituals, various conjurings, and meditations, and they are. But did you know that something as simple as making your coffee or tea in the morning can be magick as well?
Daily magick is being aware of the energies around you and incorporating them with intent into the things you do… well… every day! It’s the mindfulness behind your actions, a more perceptive way to be present in the moment, to be conscious of how you interact with what’s in your environment. This is definitely easier said than done, and will require some practice before you can do it effortlessly (at least it did for me).
Within my life and practice, I incorporate magick into all my actions and decisions. I use my intuition, draw on the energies around me, and be mindful of correspondences which could help me throughout the day. Lets go pack to the coffee or tea example. I’m not much of a coffee drinker (some of you might be shocked) so I prefer teas in the morning. I choose a tea blend which might help me along my day either spiritually or physically (or both!) My favorite blend is lemon with ginger, these both have incredible properties.
Ginger is an amazing plant! Physically, it helps with circulation, boosting the immune system, relieving some depression symptoms, digestion, menstrual cramps, and more. In it’s spiritual sense, it corresponds with restoring health (this one is pretty obvious, haha), promotes physical and spiritual balance, as well as attracts abundance and success. Lemon isn’t short on it’s awesomeness either. It helps boost the immune system, has antioxidants, helps promote healthier skin and hair, plus much more. Spiritually, lemon corresponds with increased energy, happiness, abundance, and good luck.
As you can see, this blend has some great properties. When I’m stirring my morning tea, I stir clockwise and focus on these energies, allowing them to fill up my cup with the intent as well. Then I sip on my morning potion and get ready to seize the day!
Other examples I can share just from my morning routine is welcoming the day, giving thanks to my home and guides, journaling, and picking out an outfit which brings me joy. If I need to do chores or clean my home, I do so with an additional intent of scrubbing away any negative energies present. Cooking meals, invoking the properties of ingredients I choose. If I have guests coming over, I add strength to the ward at my front door to keep any ill intentions from them out. And there’s so much more! I work with these little bits of magick throughout my day, with everything I do.
How do you incorporate magick into your life? How do you help yourself be mindful of the energies around you? Do you think practicing this is beneficial in your daily routine? If so, how could you expand on what you already do? Do you have any advice for those who are trying to add more magick into their lives? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
